Laparoscopic Spay

A laparoscopic spay is an alternative to the conventional open spay. It is a minimally invasive surgical procedure which results in less tissue trauma, lower levels of postoperative discomfort and a significantly more rapid recovery. Often referred to as “keyhole surgery”, the technique uses equipment inserted through small incisions in the abdominal wall. A magnified image is shown on a screen which allows the whole abdomen to be assessed at the same time. A similar procedure can also be used to remove undescended testicles and many other intrabdominal procedures.
