Matthew is originally from Ross-Shire and graduated with distinction from the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Medicine in Edinburgh in 2015. He started work in a busy small animal practice in Ayrshire before returning to the Highlands to join Crown Vets, where he had initially seen practice as student. Since graduating he has always had a keen interest in all aspects of surgery but in particular enjoys soft tissue surgery of the abdomen and surgical oncology. He started his Certificate in Small Animal Surgery (BSAVA PGCert SAS) in January 2017 to develop advanced surgical skills and further the surgical options available to patients in the Highlands. Recently he has undergone training in Laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery and is keen to further the use of laparoscopy for common surgical procedures.
